scavenging

the prompts for this week are ~ sunset, b&w, a day in my life, four, and colorful.

sunset~

this one was difficult for me but i realized something during the process of making a selection.  sunset photos are unappealing.  at least my own.   if i ever take another photo of a sunset i hope someone shakes me.   so there.   this one was taken a few weeks ago.  i was on the lower east side along the milwaukee river.   the sky was notable, the scene urban, so i snapped.  but i vow here and now to never ever take another photo of sunset.

black and white~

it snowed twice this past week.   the first time i was driving along lake drive, heading north to the east side.   this photo was taken through the windshield.  you know i love doing that.   it was easy to do with my point and shoot.  now?   not so much.
i'm very very happy on snowy days.

a day in my life~

this scene is typical of the evening six o'clock hour when i head upstairs, turn on the light, and daiseymae is waiting for me.   the routine is simple - me with my laptop and daisey curled up against my shoulder.

four~

these are covers of nancy drew books.     good old nancy.   i'm the sleuth that i am today because of her.

colorful~

"Woke up, it was a Chelsea morning
And the first thing that I knew
There was milk and toast and honey
And a bowl of oranges, too
And the sun poured in like butterscotch
And stuck to all my senses

Oh, won't you stay
We'll put on the day
And we'll talk in present tenses"

~joni mitchell

so there you have it.  another fun scavenger hunt.  thanks for taking a gander at my photos today.   head on over to Ashley's Ramblings and Photos and check out what others came up with this week.   happy sunday everyone.

Oh you know which is my favorite. Daisymae is striking that pose I see my Sinbad do many times throughout the day. They know the routine and patiently wait for you to get with the program. SHS is growing evermore difficult for me to continue with. I am losing interest. "sigh" Enjoy your day Becky and give Daisymae a gentle pat on the head from us.

Love your black and white!
Sunset - I believe you can never capture the really beauty with a photo. I love the change and the differences in the sky very much no photo can really capture.

OMG. I loved Nancy Drew. I read them day and night! And just so you know, I'm buying a ticket and coming out there to shake you! I love sunseet photos. How can you not? Perhaps in a different venue you would like them better? Say a few palm fronds blowing in the breeze with a hot pink and purple canvas behind them? Think about it. LOL

Delightful captures all! Loved seeing the day progress through your eyes. And I recognize that 'meatloaf' posture of daisymae!
Hope you're enjoying clean, white snow--more on the way up here :O)
Happy week, my friend.

OK, now I'll go to the gym. couldn't help stopping by first
Bowl of oranges= print and frame. That's one beautiful image!!
I will NOT remind you not to take any sunset pics....girl where's your head? I like the line, the rooftops, and the pastel sky.
I hear you on the thru the windshield. I have gotten better at balancing the DSLR on the wheel and snapping blindly. I'm glad you have the snow you wanted.
And I'm not taking a pic of my bedroom, yours is tidy. I see DM providing a warm spot for your toes.

Sunsets are notoriously difficult to photograph without telegraph or electrical wires poking up in the picture. Love the picture of Daisy Mae too.

love the bowl of oranges and the kitty waiting for your arrival... comfort & warmth in both.

@Molly - my sunset submission had wires in it too this week. Darn it anyway.

That daisy shot is so warm and inviting - in contrast to the wintry look before! Oh nancy drew, she was the best - I was a big fan too. Happy sunday right back at ya!

I Love your Nancy Drew series of four! Very creative and beautiful colors. And my favorite of all is your colorful shot...in this time of gray monotone winter skies it does my heart good to see some color.

Thanks your stopping by and commenting on my Scavenger Hunt photos!

OH, those oranges! I want them - AND the bowl. I am also a Nancy Drew fan, though my books don't have color illustrations. I don't think color printing had been invented yet when I got mine.

I can't say I agree with you on the sunset photos...I love those! And yours is a nice one, even with the other structures in the photo. I love the colors! Nice choices for the other prompts - loved the colorful and the four shots too!

I either see a tightrope walker on that powerline or see someone pulling it and unraveling the whole seen.

The oranges are pure eye candy!

Loved the Nancy Drews and the bowl of oranges. That song brings back a whole part of my life (long hair, long hippy dress, sigh). Come to New Mexico and take some sunset photos. On second thought, they kind of take themselves here. But you could still come over.

I really like your 'four' interpretation. I used to read Nancy Drew when is was young. And apparently we have the same taste in bedding, I have the same duvet cover :-)

That bowl of oranges just "pops" color in the blue bowl. And your kitty looks so patient as she waits for you.

Now I have found someone who has also orange color in her bedroom like I have !! I think it is so nice to wake up in orange room and in summer my room change color as there is so much light (we have very dark time in winter in Scandinavia:)
I like all your photos !!!! " first land scapes are so realistic and beautiful, 4 is so cool (I like old pics so much and colors in them ) and the last photo with absolutely fabulous colors !!!!!

I thought I left a comment earlier, but discovered I wasn't signed in to Google or whatever! Anyway...I am so drawn to the bowl of oranges! It's a wonderful point of view, and the light is perfect. Snow is cold and I'm allergic to cats. ;-) I think your sunset photo is good; wouldn't it be nice to be able to take one without utility lines in the image?

Very nice series.
First I like your Sunset - Don't give up on those Sunset shots.
I like the silhouette of the buildings against the color of the sunset.
Love your BW and your Colorful and of course your Day in Your life cause I can't resist a good kitty shot.

I forgot to mention that the 4 shot brought back childhood memories as Nancy Drew mysteries were some of my favorites as a teenager.

Always like to see what you decide to post for the scavenger hunt, Becky. Please tell me you won't keep the vow to never shoot another sunset.
