the creative exchange

January 16 stone~

a scattering
of winter bones,
kissed with snow -

asleep in cold silence.

                       the finest winter embrace

...is the one that warms the soul

                           and presses against our hearts...

creating enough warmth within

to light the spark,  stoke the fire, and carry us through to the awakening.

Anyone who visits my blog regularly knows how I feel about winter.   It's the season that pauses and speaks in a language of less.    The world without clutter, unequaled in beauty - a language I speak.    Thanks for checking out my creative spark today.   Hop over and say hello to lovely Lisa at The Creative Exchange.   There's a gallery of creativity there - you'll be glad you visited.   Happy Monday everyone.   I hope your day lights your fire.

Love the clean white nature in your pics, too.
Here it got colder, our little ponds was frozen this morning, but no snow yet.

I really like what I will call 50/50 shots...meaning the tree limbs that are half tree and half snow. I bet they would look cool in black & white. Wonderful post Becky.

Love your words and your photos dear Ms. Becky! They are so serene, so beautiful. This is a wonderful season, so peaceful, so silent. Although I long for spring I love the beauty of this season too. Living with the seasons is a lovely way of living. To me, it's art. And so are your photos. Thanks for sharing and enjoy every single second of the season!

Becky, each of these is a much needed reminder to me of what winter is all about. Right now, we have no snow, but we do have sub-zero temps!

Each of these is truly wonderful, and I thank you so much for sharing them with us this week at The Creative Exchange.

Have a fantastic day!

lisa.

Your winter hymn resonates with me, Becky. The last photo with the tangled windbreak receiving snow is wonderful. It's falling here today, too - thank goodness!

I love these winter photos, especially the curving grass and the flower leftovers. And I really love your take on winter - pausing and simplicity. Aaaaahh.

Spectacular....I just happened to be listening to a song by The Clash called: "Lose This Skin" as I looked at this...

I got goose bumps...

Marvellous group of delicate images. Ubique in all having this balance and serenity.
BTW, the 16 stone, does it refer to your body weight?
Probably not, as 'stone' seems to be a UK measurement, us still being in the Stone Age:-)

Ohhhh, my, sure enjoying your season about winter, and how different it is from here. I thought it was cold here with birdbaths freezing over. Then I find 3 golf balls in the frost of the water tops. You sure are giving me a birds eye view of lovely, wonderful photos by you! What an eye you have my dear...

You made the winter look beautiful.. I am sorry about your deer. We too have injured deer running around, but here it would be from cars. How anyone could shoot an animal, I don't know..I am sending you a hug...

The treasure in the meaning of your words spoken along with the images, evoke such warmth from the cold winter chill and makes one responsive to the echoes of your spirit shared~

I really enjoyed these snowy winter scenes. It reminds me of growing up in the middle of Iowa. But I must say, I do not miss it in my daily life one bit. However, I greatly appreciate that other people, like you, do and search out the best of your world to share with us.

Your words are magical and the photos enhance. Lines fat and thin, textured and fine, snow covered and barren, curvy and straight. Wonderful contrasts indeed.

Hi Ms Becky,
Looks like you've been enchanted with the magical zen of winter! Loving the simplicity of these! Glad you got some snow in that balmy, southern WI country that you live in:)

Thanks much for your kind comments at CE and at my blog. Much appreciated, they are!

Lovely "winter bones"--all your shots are great. A trace of snow can transform the landscape into a thing of beauty. I'm anxiously waiting for our first snow. Have a lovely weekend. Mickie :)
