skywatch friday

Now I ask you, doesn't that look like a summer scene?   I make every attempt to be upbeat and grateful for each day, no matter the circumstances,  but our weather the last few days has been...disgusting.   Yesterday's high was 54 and it's been raining for 48 hours.   I love rain.   Love it.   But it's December 15th and I want and expect snow!   I'm just not liking this climate change thing, at all.   I hold out hope for a white Christmas though.   The weatherman is still making the suggestion that we may get a snowstorm next week - on the day I'm planning to travel.  Now isn't that just the raspberries?    I'll take it.   To check out the skies around this beautiful planet, hop over to Skywatch Friday.   Happy Thursday everyone.  I hope you love your weather, wherever you are today.

the weatherman suggests the snowstorm for so long he might be right one day, lol. I love the expression 'isn't that just the raspberries'. it's also raining on the other side of the ocean but here no snow is expected. I'm a happy girl if I have a fireplace and I will on Xmas Eve. your photo is dreammy and it definitely looks like Summer despite the rainy clouds on the horizon. I hope your wishes do come true sweet friend.

I've also been whining about the rain on my post, so I had to smile when I jumped over to yours and read what you have been written about. A white Christmas means sooo very much for many of us, but your green and blue photo is so peaceful.

Oh, I think we all whine about our weather when it isn't what we'd like to have, but you did get a terrific capture! I'll spend time looking at this rather than out my windows right now!!! Hope you have a good, DRY, weekend, Becky!

"Now isn't that just the raspberries?" Man, am I going to get some mileage on that one! That is great. Well the sun is shining here in northern California and it is a beautiful day...but I don't think you wanted to hear that. That is a fantastic picture. Well done Becky. Have a great weekend or has great as the raspberries will let you.

It's been raining on and off all day here, so I'm glad to have been mostly indoors, warm and dry. I can't say I've exactly loved the weather, though I didn't mind it...but I certainly love your beautiful photo. I wish you that white Christmas you're longing for!

Unseasonable weather here too Becky...on Sunday, I'll be posting a forsythia blossom I saw today...I live in NH!!! Your photo is beautiful!!! I hope you will consider sending me an email about what you are grateful for to add to this year's gratitude word quilt. It will be posted on my blog on Dec 31st. I am collecting expressions of gratitude from around the world. Enjoy the weekend's skies, blue, grey, or filled with a pallet of many colors!
Gentle steps,
Laura

Safe travels for you. :)

Oh, I do know what you mean Becky. In spite of the snowfall we got last week, I am quite sure it will be a green Christmas here in NY. It rained so hard all day today, and all I could think was, "I sure wish this were snow!"

Ooops, got carried away with the snow, or lack of it!
This is a really beautiful photograph. Fantastic composition, and such wonderful simplicity.

Here I am hankering for sun and warmth in the summer we are supposed to be having! And for now, my wish seems to be slowly granted!

Re: Oliver's Hill on my MP Daily blog, Oliver's Hill was originally known as 'Old man Davey's Hill' after William Davey who lived in a wattle and dab hut on the summit of the hill. A small settlement was established at the foot of the hill in the shelter of the cove and at the mouth of Sweetwater Creek. One of the residents of this small settlement was James Oliver who was a carpenter and fisherman. He moored his fishing boat in the shelter of the cove and lived in a hut nearby. There is a link on my post for more details.

Thanks so much for your interest!

I love all the horizontal stripey goodness in this photo! I would have loved seeing a sky like that today, instead of of being blown around like a (very cold) leaf in the wind. Hope you have a wonderful weekend regardless of the weather :)

We had just enough last night to make it seem a little more Christmasy. Nothing like the 10-12" we had last year at this time.

I love this photo! Beautiful & simple. Weather is a bit strange here at the moment too-the coldest & wettest start to summer in 50 years.
Not feeling like Christmas is only 10 days away!

This image speaks of solitude and I love that. As for the weather, all I can say is it's eluding us here in Sydney too - the great Aussie summer has been replaced with cool weather, lots of rain and wet beach sand! Hope you get your snow, Ms Becky xo

Hi Becky,
Thanks for commenting on my recent entry!
This photo is so concise but has very sophisticated composition. It looks to me that it's about to snow.
I miss sizzling summer already:)
Have a wonderful weekend, Becky.

Yes, it looks like a summer shot.

You can have all the snow you want. I don't need it.

"Love your weather wherever you are." That is an excellent thought, Becky. Otherwise I'd have to say: go where you love the weather. That is what I've done, loving the tropics. I'm SO glad you like rain and snow (NOT being cynical). :-) You photo is perfect!
