her garden has a nice variety of flowers, especially for July/August. these are immature berries from her Highbush Cranberry. they're wet from all that humidity in the air, and the falling drops.
Rudbeckia. they appear so happy, don't they?
Monarda fistulosa, or Bee Balm. this is a non-native variety, but isn't it lovely?
Orange tickseed....
more Bee Balm, the native variety. I really like this color.
doing it's job of attracting the bees...
I especially like her Balloon Flower - Platycodon Grandiflorus
Shasta Daisies
I'm uncertain as to the variety of this daylily, but it has a striking chartreuse throat
Russian Sage. I rarely see this where it can grow unencumbered, but when it isn't crowded out by surrounding plants it's breath-taking as a small shrub. It isn't easy to photograph either, because it's so wispy.
some coleus tucked in among the irises and hosta. I've never seen a coleus that didn't instantly become one of my favorite plants ever. my grandmother must have passed her love for this plant down to me, because I never get enough of it and want to plant every variety I see in my own garden. and there hundreds of species and some are even edible. (do check that out before adding some to your salad though!)
I'm including this photo of the pond grasses because...well because I like them!
So that concludes the tour of Julie's garden. Thanks for looking, I hope you've enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed photographing it. Julie herself is like a flower, and that's reflected in her lovely gardens.
I'm linking up with Today's Flowers. head on over there to check out the fantastic display of flowers, you'll be happy you did. happy Sunday everyone. sit long, talk much.

Very nice pictures all Becky. I like the grass in the pond shot best and it doesn't have any of the vibrant color as does the flower photos. So why do I like it so? Dunno. Shasta Daisies, about the only one I knew.
the sage and the pond grasses were my favorite! just gorgeous!
very pretty pics. certainly looks like you had a great time shooting them. :)
have a beautiful day!
Thank you for the tour around Julie's garden Becky - she has some beautiful flowers there. My daughter's name is Julie too.
Beautiful ♥
Oh, I wish for myself such a pond - it looks so beautiful in your pic!
This tour you took me on around Julie's garden is the perfect ending to my day, Becky. Every flower here is wonderful, and my favorite today is the purple balloon flower, maybe because I've never seen one.
Oh I love these shots - particularly the tickseed and the balloon flower - absolutely stunning shots. I did enjoy the tour - thank you so much. Have a great Sunday Beckie.
The Rudbeckia and the Balloon Flower are my favorite shots but they are all lovely!
I scrolled down and enjoyed the iPhone shots - now I want one. :)
Thanks for the tour, these photos are beautiful!
lots of beauties here. :)
Coleus and shasta daisy are about the only plants I recognise! The rest I have never seen! A fascinating, colourful post!
That's a gorgeous garden, and no doubt about it! I like the bee balm the most!
Now that we live in the desert, I sure miss these flowers. Oh, we have flowers--they're just different ones. Right now in this drought, the cacti and flourishing, and not much else...
Thank you for the lovely tour!
Beautiful shots of a lovely garden.
Love all the photos but that Bee Balm was my fave ... love the color!
beautiful!!!
Gorgeous flower shots Ms Becky. A year ago before I started taking photos, I could hardly name any. My friends used to try and teach me and I tuned them out. I was impressed that I knew almost all of these-maybe not their fancy names, but the more casual ones. Must say I like my name sake flowers...the black eyed Susans. Thanks for the garden tour.
I did enjoy my tour of Julie's garden...I like the coleus plants, too--always have and always will.
You have an amazing set of photos here.
Becky these are gorgeous shots! Very beautiful flowers. I'm especially intrigued by the balloon flower. The daisies are my favourite though <3
My favorite is the coleus!
Love the stuff...
Gorgeous shots Becky, as Usual!!
hughugs
What beautiful shots of so many cheery flowers!
Your photos are truly exquisite. Thank you for taking us through your friend's garden, and naming all the flowers. It's been a wonderful tour.
Ahhh
Julie's garden is Paradise for my eyes. . .thanks for taking me along.
What a beautiful set of images. I walked and enjoyed the garden with you.
Catching up on my reading... this post is beautiful, Becky. Your friend has a great garden!
Beautiful black eyed susans!! I agree with you about the Russian sage, too! Place down the road has it in the front yard, and lets it grow to its full glory, as a backdrop to the echinacea and something yellow. I will see about posting those photos for you (well, I took them for me...)
