shadow shot sunday

check-in at the zoo.   at first glance it appears as though this is a crowd of thumbers.    not so.   actually what they're doing is peeling off the back of their name tags before sticking them to the front of their shirts.  great concentration, no?  except the man in the pale blue t-shirt and bahama shorts standing right smack in the center of the photo.    he appears to be supervising the rest of the bunch.    it was late afternoon, and the sun was shining in through the high windows of the welcome center.

alright.  I admit I'm getting a bit lame with my shadow shots of late.    maybe I don't get out enough.   or maybe my eye is getting lazy.  or maybe, just maybe, I need a change of season and some cool Canadian air for refreshment and relief from these dog days.   it will come soon enough I guess.   in the meantime, head on over to visit Tracy from down under at Hey Harriet.   you'll catch some fine shadows over there.   guaranteed.   have a joyful weekend everyone.  sit long, talk much.

I'm thinking the animals had tons of interesting people to watch that day! :))

Looked like an airport or bus station terminal to me. No wait...too clean. I don't understand the red t-shirt lettering. People or rather crowd shots like this are always interesting. There are so many stories to make up. Have a nice weekend Ms. B.

Fun, busy shadow shots for the day and very interesting looking people -- fun to be able to capture a crowd! They do seem preoccupied with their name tage! I love it! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Ms.Becky! Stay away from the news! Guaranteed to ruin your day/evening!!

COMPADRES

Shadows above me,
Shadows below;
Some shadows swift and
Some shadows slow;
All of these shadows,
It’s plain to see,
Are my compadres—
Sweet company!

Scissor Those Shadows!

The guy in blue is grouchy, a let-down to those in the family are happy to be there and ready to place those name tags. The kids will really enjoy the exhibits, the guy in blue - who cares...

Shadows are all around, and we all capture plenty. Your shadows on the ground and in the air are quite nice. Shadowy art is always art, and you have captured it well!

I hope you aren't praying for the return of Lake Michigan lake-effect snows to fall on MKE. A little heat before winter i still great!

Since I began blogging a year ago, I have found a new perspective. Things look different behind a camera lens and a whole new world opens up to the viewer. Perhaps a vacation, with camera in tow, will refresh those juices. But, please, don't wish cooler temperatures on us already. Summer here in Alberta has been anything but balmy. :)

I love the candid of the people --

Your post made me smile. I think the guy in blue is thinking of a game he`d rather be watching or a cool beer. Your shots are great. Never lame. Happy SSS.

I love the way the shadows in the outer edges frame the shot in the first one. The center of the photo almost seems to glow.

Looks like a fun place to spend the afternoon.

Your candid shot of the people is hilarious. I hope none of them read your blog. LOL
The second photo is beautiful with that perfect shaft of light, Becky, just beautiful.

Dog Days!!??? The summer is just getting started. I haven't taken any motorcycle trips yet, but due to travel soon. These are great shadow shots. I'm glad you explained, I would have glanced and thought for sure everyone was texting. Good stuff!

Peace

Enjoyed this chatty post! A fu n read! And love the first photo with people so intently looking down! At first I thought that they were texting on Iphones! I too am struggling with shadows because we hardly get any sun! Lots of rain and grey cloud in our winter! The photo on my blog this week was taken during one hour of afternoon sunhshine! I had to get out and walk!

And I must thank you for your lovely comme nt on my blog!

Both of these shots are great, but the second one is REALLY cool. Your processing is super duper. Let me tell you...I am really worried about this hike. Those mts. are the worst. I hope he will be able to make the iPhone work being that I got it for him just a week ago. I have 3 pkgs. of food to mail out to different post office for him. The AT is heavily used at this time of the year so he was always passing people. All I read about the Long Trail...it is less traveled. After 33 years, I do NOT want him getting hurt, and I cannot even begin to imagine these 3 weeks all alone here in this old creaky farmhouse. Thank goodness for Hack. He barks at a fly so he will let me know if anyone is around and about the property.
XOXOXOXOX Genie

OMG...I'm melting...what a heat wave, this'll be one for the records, I'm with ya on the cool Canadian weather and this is why we love the seasons, though I'm still a bit apprehensive!

How's the garden doing, mine has sure taken a beating, I'm going to try to organize tomorrow since I have a day off, then I'll post the ugly truth behind the scenes...maybe I'll find that pesky hornworm on my tomatoes, the chickens will be rewarded... JUICY!!!

Have a great week, no end in sight here for a reprieve...sigh!

Love it, what a fun shot. Great shadows, and subjects. The man in the blue shirt looks like he would rather be someplace else. LOL

You can call your shadows lame if you'd like....but your sense of humor is going strong. Supervisor in the blue shirt and thumbers. C'mon girlfriend, you're not missing a stride a'tall.
