entrance to Racine Zoo
this is the entrance to the Racine zoo. the overhead lattice work casts a grid-like shadow on the concrete. the gate itself is intricately cut metal depicting various wildlife. one of the few sunny days this past week!
to check out more shadows around the planet, head over to Hey Harriet.

Wow! that's almost image overload!!!
My first thought was the same as texwisgirl. Busy, busy, busy! My mind is spinning.
Fabulous shot - it looks like a maze!
Those shadows are beautiful, wonderful and full on. What an amazing entrance!
I grew up in Racine! A couple of months ago, I was visiting my sister there and we actually went to the zoo. There wasn't much to see, unfortunately since most of the animals were indoors or hiding. I love that entrance.
Glad you had a sunny day, this is a terrific shadow shot for the day, Becky!! Enjoy your weekend!

Great shadows - brilliant photo
Almost too much to focus on. what an amazing shot!
Got to love a zoo. Very interesting shadows at the entrance.
Holy Cow .... or should I say Holy Tiger! That is a beautiful entrance to the zoo. The lattice work looks like beige pieces of cloth hanging from above. And the gate looks like gold reflecting in a pool of water. The shadows on the ground really enhance the gate's focal point. Cool shot!
The geometric shadow sits like a checkerboard on the sidewalk below. The linear pattern is great. Steel lattice isn't necessarily beautiful, but with a gloriously sunny day, the mundane looks artistic! Lovely view, and I assume zoo too...
Lots of great shadows here.
Well, you get the blue ribbon for this one. I cannot believe all the detail you were able to capture in this shot. The shadow formation is fab, but the carved out gate is what pulled in my eyes. It is one marvelous piece. Hope you are having a nice weekend. Have been out cleaning out the outbuilding...what a nasty mess! XOXO G
Wow..what a pattern..almost like an eye test...
This is a most cool photo. Thanks for sharing.
All the best, Boonie
Wow! I'm glad you explained what it was. I was taken in but also lost. http://loosleafnotes.com
I got some too.
Wow!! That is a really Great Shadow Shot and a very interesting entrance to the zoo. I wonder if they knew that the overhead lattice would create such wonderful shadows??
Thanks for sharing!!
and another WOW! This capture is very busy, I would have loved to see the gate close up. Hope you had a great day at the zoo.
Now that is a shadow shot and a half!!!
That is a great shadow capture. So sharp and symetrical. I have never been to the Racine Zoo. Do they have elephants? My aunt lived in Racine, had a small Italian grocery on highway 41 way back. Cousins still live there on a large farm near Sturtevent on Hwy C. I don't get through there too much these days, but onn a recent trip, I did take the route home through Milwaukee instead of Madison.
Thanks for the womderful shadow shot and for spurring some memories.
Peace

A great shot! I thought it was tile on the floor!
Wow! Awesome!
Wow - that's an excellent photo. The shadows give you an illusion of a continuous pattern and it's almost a black and white photo! Great job, Ms. Becky.
How's your weekend?
