shadow shot sunday

In the beginning there was nothing.  God said, "Let there be light!"  And there was light.  There was still nothing, but you could see it a whole lot better.  ~Ellen DeGeneres

the grass is green,  the daffodils are blooming,  but  the trees still sleep.    even a small bare tree casts a shadow though.   to catch the shadow chasers around the world,  head on over to Hey Harriet.

I LOVE Ellen. She cracks me up. I rarely watch her show, but she makes me laugh when I do.
Love those long long lines on the building. Great contrasts in this shot. Hope you're not hurrying the weekend by calling out Sunday on Saturday.

love the Ellen quote. :) sounds like you're still waiting for spring to unfurl.

Hi Becky! That lone, bare tree casts such a delicate shadow on the building. Very nice. Happy SSS to you!

A wonderful minimalist shot my friend. See, you see something in nothing and make it great. I would have just walked on by. Even given light to see it a whole lot better, often I am still blind. You open my eyes.

This building is nondescript. Not unattractive, perhaps functional, but not much style. The budding tree adds a character detail here, the large blank wall now a canvas for shadowy art. Nice capture! Enjoy your week

Love that Degeneres quote.
The pastel colors are a perfect backdrop for the single tree and it's shadow. spring is slowly moving in and the progress is dreamy.

I do like trees that grow on walls!

A SEEKER OF SHADOWS

A seeker of shadows, they say,
Will keep her eyes peeled night and day
For resident shades
That haunt the dark glades
And never come outside to play.

73 degrees here today...eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...I'm luvin it, even though I have to work on Saturdays at the Candle Shed, the rest of the week I get to play with my own toys, not a bad work schedule!

So far the open house has been great, sold $200.00 in soaps yesterday, now that's a lotta soap! Hopefully today is even better, Saturdays always are and the rain stayed North, so we lucked out, people are so ready for this weather. My trees are just starting to leaf out, but the only flower have blooming is the violets and dandelions...and my morels, tomorrow they go to the skillet!!!

Have a great weekend Miss Becky!!!

Love your quote from Ellen. And your shadow shot is so crisp and clear. Won't be long before there will be leaves popping out.

Good capture of that lonely shadow. You're correct, the thinnest silouette still casts a shadow. Can't hide from nature.

Peace

Looks like a modernistic picture! Hope the tree wakes up soon.

Surely they shall wake up soon:-)

Love the quote...such a funny woman!

I love the grainy texture of this photo. There really is something about how you captured it, that makes so interesting.

That quote cracked me up! I used to watch Ellen's show when it was broadcast in one of the local cable channels here. The tree looks forlorn and yet hauntingly beautiful.

Happy Sunday, Ms. Beth!

Less is more. Perfect shot.
Our trees are green neither but it's been mainly sunny but not very warm...
Happy 1st of May!
ps. several people have had similar problem to leave a comment - I'll ask somebody to check what and where the problem is.

Funny quote, Ms Becky. I love the small shadow focus and your words today x

I have a sense of David and Goliath, the small tree and the huge monolithic building, with no windows to even see the tree.
Brilliant photo!

How much do I love this shot? Let me count the ways - the lines, the perspective, the subtle colors, the gentle little tree... and oh, yeah, there's a shadow, too! So nice.

The contrast is great. Hopefully soon, you will have the leaves.

Ms. Becky,

I LOVE your shadow shot! The branches are so thin (sorry, I can't think of the right word) and dainty.

The quote that you posted is great too, AND I'm very proud to know that I am a shadow chaser, hanging out with the best of you guys!

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit,

Kathy M.

Thanks for your comment Becky - I think rain gets a bad press...I can tell you like it though from your lovely rainy shots from behind glass. I hope that rather bare tree gets leaves too soon..it casts a nice shadow though. Have a great week as well!

I love your shadow shot. The contrast between nature and man made. One so fragile and the other of concrete.
It's very stunning.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Becky, there is the deity of spring in Nara, who helps plants bloom, I'll send her to the trees over there. The tree in photo seems to speak to the wall. It needs friend, maybe.Great shot.
Have a nice week!
