Let's hope it's a good one...

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
Ans so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong
And so happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
And what have we done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
Ans so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
War is over over
If you want it
War is over
Now...

window without eyes

They say, “Eyes are the window to the soul”. Well, how about making photographs with this window closed? The body language of a person can say a great deal about that person - how they are feeling in a particular moment.

behold...

celebrate

Bella writes ~ "I love the diversity of celebrations, especially now with most people sharing photos on their blogs, facebook, and instagram - it's a great look into how we celebrate milestones, special occasions and holidays. I'm very big on celebrations. Dinner & drinks, coffee & cake, ceremonies, gatherings, candles, dancing or twinkle lights - all beautiful ways to uplift & recognize the people or occasions in our life".

This prompt brought to me the realization that I'm not big on celebrations.    But for the first time that I'm able to recall, I celebrated my birthday this year.

leaves

to Leontien

there is an endless net of threads throughout the universe.
the horizontal threads are in space.
the vertical threads are in time.
at every crossing of the threads there is an individual,  and every individual is a crystal bead.
and every crystal bead reflects not only the light from every other crystal in the net,  but also every other reflection throughout the entire universe.

Still Life

Week 25 {Still Life}

I love you Garlic.
Potent, pungent,
Purple, white, and elephant,
Or roasted golden, sweet and mellow,
I can even kiss my fellow.
A must for pasta sauce,
Into stir-fries I toss,
Raw, minced in salad,
You satisfy my palate.
I love you Garlic.

orange

"This week our focus is on ORANGE and if you're lucky enough to live in a place where the change of season is in full swing, this week should be a breeze".

Orange is my favorite color.  It's delicious.    I couldn't leave it at just one photo of orange.

season's beginning

What is this time looking like where you live? Are you going into fall or spring?

this one gave me a few hiccups.   it's late september and i really should be back at school....

wait.   that's a line from maggie mae, and it always reminds me of autumn's first chapter.   but i digress.

it's late september and there are few signs of it.   the summer drought didn't help.    i thought about this

for the better part of the week before realizing that what autumn means to me initially, what it looks like,

is my off-white satchel being traded for my black satchel.

contents ~

three pr. prescription eye glasses (one for sun)
lip gloss
mobile phone
hand lotion
hand sanitizer/wipes
wallet
car keys
loads of kleenex
nail file
nail clipper
ricola herbal cough drops
business cards
coin purse

it's my favorite satchel of all time.   it has three separate areas - perfect for organization.   the weight of

it displeases my physical therapist.   it could be worse.

ten on ten hey

my posting has been scant for a long while.   even today, while putting this together i was surprised at how time consuming it is to blog.  but who am i kidding.  i wasn't posting because i had nothing to say.  not with my camera,  and not with my thoughts.    that happens you know.   we can lose our voice.    or if we have one, maybe we only want to whisper in our own ear, and not share.   at any rate,  yesterday i photographed every hour for ten hours.   now hear my voice.

did you count?

well...because i felt like it.  hear me roar.

that was my yesterday.    i see now how much of my time is spent either preparing or cooking food.    like i didn't already know that.   huh.
